Statistical multistep processes in the (N, xN') reactions at the middle energies

Description

Possibilities of describing the differential cross section of the reaction (N, xN') at εN > 50 MeV are discussed in the quantum model of statistical multistep direct (MSDP) and compound (MSCP) processes with account of multiple emission of secondary particles. On the concrete examples it is shown that consistent description of the (p, xn) experiment data at εp = 90 MeV for the nuclei 58 Ni, 90 Zr and 209 Bi can be achieved for the whole energy range of secondaries taking into account the contribution given by 1SDP, 2SDP, 3SDP and by the combined mechanism iSDP → MSCP (i = 1, 2, 3) + multiple emission. 18 refs., 3 figs
