Solar flares: thermal phase models

  • 1. Rutherford Appleton Lab., Chilton (UK)

Description

The paper reviews the work carried out on the thermal phase models of solar flares. The scope of soft x-ray flare models, development of soft x-ray loop models, numerical models, comparison of models and observations, non-maxwellian distribution functions, and optically thick power loss, are all discussed.
