Electron spectroscopy of energy losses in metallic indium
Description
The investigation results on electron energy losses spectra in metallic indium showed that indium has a slight polarizability 4d3/2 and 4d5/2-levels of ion frames. Electron excitation of these frames corresponds to the peculiariries of threshhold type which have an extremely low intensity. Volumetric plasma resonance, having a smaller width than the corresponding peaks in other elements but K and Na, dominates in these spectra. The resonance is shifted to ∼ 1.4 eV in the direction of lower energies as compared to the classical energy of plasma waves in indium
