On accuracy of descripton of the equilibrium figures for a rotating nucleus by means of ellipsoid

Description
Exact equnlibrium figures of ratating nuclei, having the axial symmetry, are obtained in framework of the liquid drop model of nucleus with a sharp boundary. Critical values of the angular momentum when these figures became instable, are determined. The results of the calculations enable one to find the accuracy of the ellipsoid approximation, usually accepted for description of rotating nuclei
