Discussion and improving suggestion on EPRI risk-informed piping inservice inspection optimization method

Description

EPRI Optimization Method is widely chosen to perform the risk-informed inservice inspection on piping of nuclear power plants in China, and the main evaluation procedures such as analysis on the pipeline failure probability and consequence and on risk increment calculation need to be performed. The paper aims at discussing these main evaluation procedures and finding out the possible problems. Further, by briefly introducing and discussing about the risk-informed classification method and WOG risk-informed piping inservice inspection optimization method, the paper proposes the requirement to improve the pipe failure probability calculation, and gives the advice to perform piping failure consequence analysis combining with using RRW and RAW, in order to find out an inservice inspection optimization method that can evaluate the risk change of nuclear power plant appropriately at the current technology level in China.
