Short-term creep, long-term rupture strength and fracture in molybdenum-tungsten alloys at high temperatures
Description
Characteristics of the second creep and long-term strength of molybdenum-tungsten alloys with solid-solution and combined strengthening prepared by the powder metallurgy methods at temperatures of 1500, 1750 and 2000 deg C are presented. Empirical equations which describe dependences of the creep rate and time to failure from the applied stress are obtained. It is established that introduction of small-disperse particles of niobium and carbon carbide into the Mo-30 % W essentially increases characteristics of the material high-temperature strength
