Description
Serum CEA was studied in 31 hemodialysis patients: 12 chronic hepatitis B virus carriers with circulating HBsAg-IgM complexes, 8 HBsAg positive and 11 HBsAg negative patients. Three commercial RIA methods were used comparatively. Serum levels of CEA were found to be significantly increased in the group with circulating HBsAg-IgM complexes, as compared with the HBsAg negative patients. The important role of the liver in the metabolism of CEA in these patients is postulated. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
(orig.)Additional details
