This paper offers a discussion of the motion of magnetic flux structures, which result in various thermoelectric and thermomagnetic effects. The article first treats the two types of force which act upon flux structures: the Lorentz force and thermal force. This is followed by a brief review of experimental studies of these forces. The author also treats the problems of flux-pinning, time-dependent theories of flux flow, and the case of current-induced dissipative states
