Possible P and T nonconservation in psi' decay

  • 1. Oregon Univ., Eugene (USA). Inst. of Theoretical Science

Description

If the observed CP nonconservation in Ksub(L) → 2π is due to Higgs exchange as recently proposed by Weinberg, then many processes will exhibit P and T nonconservation. In particular, if the (u, b)sub(R) five-quark gauge model is used, there should be a substantial parity-violating effect in psi' → psiπ0. Experimental confirmation of this result could be the first (indirect) evidence ever obtained for the existence of Higgs bosons. (Auth.)
