Small x evolution in the CGC beyond the total cross section: accommodating diffraction and other restrictions on the final state
- 1. Dept. of Physical Sciences, P.O. Box 3000, FIN-90014 University of Oulu (Finland)
Description
We present the tools needed to extend JIMWLK/BK evolution beyond the total cross section in γ*A experiments, emphasizing how each observable is governed by its own evolution equation and the associated restriction of phase space. We apply the results to HERA total cross section and rapidity gap data for the first time at NLO, using running coupling and ''energy conservation'' corrections. These contributions crucially slow down evolution to match experiment.
