Isotope c(234U)/c(235U) relation in PIK reactor fuel elements

  • 1. Nuclear Physics Inst., St. Petersburg (Russian Federation)

Description

The PIK research reactor has a light water core with a central irradiation channel and a heavy water reflector in which experimental channels are located. Rod type fuel elements contain 90% enrichment uranium. In the present work, the isotope relation c(234U)/c(235U) in PIK reactor fresh fuel elements is investigated by nondestructive γ-spectroscopic methods. These data are necessary for increasing the PIK reactor keff (or critical loading) calculation accuracy. (author)
