Excited states of 126Te

  • 1. Physics Department, Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai (India)

Description

Many nuclei in the mass region ∼ 130 e.g. 138Gd, 136Sm, 134Nd, 132Ce, 130Ba, 128Xe have been found in the literature to have K-isomers. The nucleus 126Te has been chosen for studying K-isomerism. This nucleus is expected to have γ - soft behavior and may exhibit K-isomerism as predicted by Xu et al. The energy states up to 10 h have been identified in 126Te. The plan was to build the level scheme first and then look for the isomer, if there is any. Here the experimental result on the excited states of 126Te have been presented
