Fast timing studies of the neutron-rich singly-magic N = 82 nuclei
Description
The singly-magic nuclei provide a testing ground for the microscopical models on the residual interactions among alike valence nucleons within relatively simple quantum systems. As part of our systematic studies of the neutron-rich N = 82 nuclei, we have performed measurements of the level lifetimes in the picosecond regime on 136Xe and 138Ba using the fast timing βγγ(t) method. A summary of the results is given on the 136Xe. 138Ba and 140Ce nuclei. (orig.)
