Structure of the upper Hubbard band

Creators

  • 1. Princeton Univ., NJ (United States)

Description

The author presents results concerning two-particle excitations in the upper Hubbard band of large-U Hubbard models at half-filling. In particular, the author addresses the question of the existence of excitonic states due to magnetic interactions and gives analytic and numerical results for binding energies, lifetimes etc. The implications for optical studies of the insulating copper-oxides is discussed
