Description
Although the Sizewell B reactor was commissioned only recently in early 1994, its operators had all received their training in a programme initiated in 1983 by the, then, Central Electricity Generating Board (CEGB) at its Nuclear Training Centre. The Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) Training Programme Development (TPD) Group aimed to review existing training arrangements for gas reactor plants within the CEGB and compare them with best training practices in overseas utilities operating PWR plants. Thus a quality training programme has emerged which is appropriate to all Sizewell B operations staff and which will be useful for any future United Kingdom PWR projects. (UK)
