Description
The importance of the Coulomb collision is emphasized in connection with the heating rate of plasmas. After the examination on a simple model, the general relation between the heating rate and the effective thermalization frequency νT (Eq. (3-2)) is presented, and the dependence of νT on the collision frequency is discussed on consulting to the particle diffusion in toroidal systems. The heating rates in several methods of heating are obtained from applications of the general result. Some comments on the heating methods oriented to CTR are given. (author)
