Electron beam welding of 12Kh18N10T-PSM porous reticular material

  • 1. Moskovskoe Vysshee Tekhnicheskoe Uchilishche (USSR)

Description

The investigation results on the development of the technique for the electron beam welding of the 12Kh18N10T-PSM porous reticular material are presented. The experiments were carried out using 2.8 and 3.8 mm thick samples with the porosity of 15 and 35%, respectively. The obtained butt joints were tested for tensile strength. Metallographic investigations of the fission zone were also carried out. It has been found that in order to increase the optimization parameter the weld rate and the material porosity are to be changed simultaneously in different directions, i.e. the material with high porosity should be welded at low weld rates and those with low porosity - at high rates. The joints with the porosity of 15% obtained under the following conditions: the beam current is 45 mA, the weld rate is 50 m/h, possess the highest relative porosity
