P(3 He,t) charge exchange at momenta 4.4--18.3 GeVc with production of the Δ isobar

Description
Invariant differential cross sections for the reaction 3 He+p→t+Δ++ at 4.40, 6.81, and 10.79 GeV and preliminary data at 18.3 GeVc are given. The cross sections were measured at small triton-emission angles, and the error in their absolute normalization does not exceed 8--13%. The data presented are satisfactorily reproduced by a calculation made by us in the framework of the Glauber-Sitenko model. We also give a comparison with calculations according to the one-meson-exchange model
