Description
In this paper, the authors report the result of the observation of the surface of an organic superconductor, by STM (scanning tunneling microscopy). The STM image of the two-dimensional organic superconductor (BEDT-TTF)2 (NH4) Hg(SCN)4 [BEDT-TTF:bis(ethylenedithio) tetrathiafulvalene] crystal showed a periodic structure, which is in good agreement with the molecular arrangement with the conductive BEDT-TTF layer in the crystal. The influence of the top anion layer on the ATM image was observed, as was previously shown for the (BEDT-TTF)2KHg(SCN)4 crystal. The high stability of this surface has also been revealed
