Description
In nuclear fuel reprocessing plants, transfers of highly active and corrosive solutions are currently carried out by vapor ejectors or air-lifts. The use of these means of transfer has consequences on the design of the workshops and on the operating conditions (height of buildings, dilution, etc.). These inconveniences have led to the search for other techniques for transporting radioactive solutions that meet the usual nuclear constraints: the absence of mobile mechanical organs in the cell, minimum in-situ maintenance, the limitation of vents..., which can be implemented in future reprocessing plants. Fluid pumps have appeared to meet these objectives. This study aims at identifying the characteristics of fluid pumps. A first part is devoted to the presentation of the fluid pump and to the conceptual study of a prototype installation. The second part evaluates the performance of this installation: measurement of operating characteristics at different lift heights. The third part presents the theory of the performance of a pump of this type. The model takes into consideration the different parameters involved in the installation: the pulse volume, the compressed air pressure, the depression at suction, the loss of load and the density of the fluid. The model is validated thanks to the database constituted by the tests. (author)
Abstract (French)
Dans les usines de retraitement des combustibles nucleaires, les transferts de solutions tres actives et corrosives sont realises actuellement par des ejecteurs a vapeur ou des air-lifts. L'utilisation de ces moyens de transfert a des consequences sur la conception des ateliers et sur les conditions d'exploitation (hauteur des batiments, dilution, etc.). Ces inconvenients ont conduit a rechercher d'autres techniques de transport de solutions radioactives repondant aux contraintes nucleaires habituelles: absence d'organes mecaniques mobiles en cellule, maintenance in-situ minimum, limitation des events..., pouvant etre mises en oeuvre dans les futures usines de retraitement. Les pompes fluidiques sont apparues comme repondant a ces objectifs. L'etude exposee dans ce memoire a ete entreprise dans le but de cerner les caracteristiques des pompes fluidiques. - La premiere partie est consacree a la presentation de la pompe fluidique et a l'etude conceptuelle d'une installation prototype. - La seconde partie evalue les performances de cette installation: mesure des caracteristiques de fonctionnement a differentes hauteurs de refoulement. - La troisieme partie presente l'etude theorique des performances d'une pompe de ce type. Le modele developpe prend en consideration les differents parametres intervenant dans l'installation: le volume des pulses, la pression de l'air comprime de chasse, la depression a l'aspiration, les pertes de charge et la densite du fluide utilise. Sa validation a ete possible a partir de la base de donnees constituee par les essais. En conclusion nous montrons que ce type de pompe peut repondre a differentes utilisations, l'extension du modele de calcul developpe ici permettra l'etablissement de standards de dimensionnent de la pompe face a diverses configurations d'emploi.
