Pathophysiology, biochemistry, and pharmacology of platelets
Description
Using data gathered by new means of imaging internal organs and detecting the deposition of radioactively labeled materials in living organisms, the author discusses the relation of platelets to vasular diseases such as thrombosis and arteriosclerosis, which is a key factor in the development of arterial thrombosis. Among the aspects of arterial disease assessed by such imaging techniques are arteriosclerotic lesions, endothelial injury, spasm, thrombosis, and embolism
