The screening effect of the projectile electrons on inner-shell excitation
Description
The screening effect of the projectile electrons in cases of 1s-2p excitation and L-shell ionisation is investigated in the framework of the semiclassical approximation. The approach takes into consideration the change of the screening with the impact parameter and with the position of the projectile along its path. The dependence of the screening effect on the projectile energy and ionic charge is discussed. (author)
