Beam Halo Measurements at SARAF Prototype-Superconducting-Module Using Nuclear Reactions

  • 1. Soreq Nuclear Center, Yavne (Israel)

Description

The main objective of this study is to measure the beam halo magnitude and the beam halo profile of SARAF prototype-superconducting-module (Phase-I) using nuclear techniques with appreciable cross sections at proton energies < 4 MeV. Whereas the main proton beam is of the order of 2 mA, the beam halo at a distance of about 1.5-2 cm from the beam center is expected to be of the order of 1 nA
