On phonon spectrum structure of Laves phases Lasub(1-x)Scsub(x)Alsub(2)
Description
Experiments on inelastic neutron scatterin.o by polycrystalline samples of intermetallic compounds of Lasub(1-x)Scsub(x)Alsub(2) (x=0, 0.25, 1) with cubic structure of the Laves phase C15 are carried out. Energy spectrum of phonon state density G tilde(ω) is characterized by the presence of a gap within the 16-18 MeV energy range. Reconstruction of neutron scattering spectrum, caused by the fact that G tilde(ω) for a sample with combined composition (0 < x < 1) exhibits features of densities of states of two initial Laves phases x=0 and x=1, is discovered with variations in x
