Mechanism and unified model of (n, γ) reactions
Description
It is expected that the unified model of (n, γ) reactions based upon the concept of multistep process can be perfected in recent years. The progress made recently in this area is reviewed in this paper. The mechanisms of (n, γ) reactions are classified according to the hierarchy of quasiparticle numbers in the excited configurations. For each process, the following questions are discussed: physical significance, schematic representation, calculational formula, test of characteristics that distinguish the mechanism, comparison of theory with data, as well as remaining problems
