Description
Flower-like CdS nanostructure was obtained by a PEG2000 and thioglycolic acid (TGA) assisted hydrothermal process at relatively low temperature. Products were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), ultraviolet-visible (UV-vis) spectroscopy, photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectra, and thermogravimetric-differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA). Results show that TGA played a significant role in the formation of CdS nanostructures. A preliminary explanation of the mechanism is proposed.
