Quantum treatment for the unidimensional steady transport in continuous systems
- 1. Barcelona Univ. (Spain). Facultad de Ciencias
Description
In this letter a quantum treatment for the unidimensional steady transport in continuous systems is given. In order to carry it out, the junction between two solutions of the same solute initially at the same concentrations, through which a constant difference of temperature is established, is assimilated to a potential barrier. Two cases are considered: firstly, the case in which the material net flow is null, obtaining the energy flow and recently the case in which the material flow does not vanish, determining the flow. In both cases, under certain limitations, formally identical results to those of the Thermodynamics of Irreversible Processes (T.I.P.) are obtained. (author)
