Maximum orbit excursion near magnetoresonance in a magnetostatic wiggler with a guide magnetic field

Description
The two-variable expansion method is adopted to approximately solve the equations of motion near magnetoresonance for a single electron moving in the idealized helical magnetostatic wiggler with a guide magnetic field. It is found that the maximum perpendicular orbit excursion is proportional to the 3rd root of epsilon, where epsilon is the ratio of the wiggler peak field to the guide magnetic field
