Improved Monte Carlo Renormalization Group
Description
The author reviews the Cordery-Gupta Monte Carlo Renormalization Group method (MCRG) to calculate the Renormalized Hamiltonian in a many coupling space and to determine the Linearized Transformation Matrix (LTM). The important advantages of this method, i.e, there are no long time correlations even on the critical surface, are stressed. The method allows a careful error analysis in the determination of the renormalized couplings and in the LTM. Using the exact solution of the d = 2 Ising model (IM2) the authors deduce a number of properties of the LTM and show why great care is needed in the truncation
