Description
Several aspects of the production of sup(99m)Tc-radiopharmaceuticals in nuclear medicine departments are summarized on the basis of chemical, pharmaceutical and pharmacological studies. Starting from the labelling process and the chemical structure of technetium compounds the possibilities and limits of the development of this kind of radiopharmaceuticals are discussed. Taking into particular consideration the development and application of kits and using some examples, the optimization of preparation parameters is dealt with and interfering effects are discussed.
