Description
Two-proton radioactivity was observed in 2002 in the decay of 45Fe. Since then other experiments with 45Fe, 54Zn, and most likely with 48Ni have confirmed this observation and two, possibly three, ground-state two-proton emitters with half-lives in the milli-second range are known today. These experimental data allow a detailed comparison with theoretical models which link the observed two-proton decay energy with the two-proton half-life. Beyond this comparison, we will investigate which possible higher-mass two-proton radioactivity candidates will become available
