Radiochemical determination of fluoride in rainwater using radionuclide 18F
- 1. Ceskoslovenska Akademie Ved, Prague. Ustav Experimentalni Mineralogie a Geochemie
- 2. Ustav Jaderneho Vyzkumu CSKAE, Rez (Czechoslovakia)
Description
Fluoride determination is described using the method of concentration dependent distribution. The determination is based on the dependence of percentage adsorption of 18F labelled fluoride on glass spheres upon the analytical concentration of fluoride in the solution. Mark's and Das' method is modified using a glass adsorbent of Czechoslovak design, respecting the effect of the presence of Al ions and radiofluoride production by a different nuclear reaction (cyclotron bombardment) yielding higher specific activity.
