Ultrasonic in-service inspection of shrunk-on turbine disks
Description
An ultrasonic in-service inspection system has been developed for the detection of axial-radial orientated stress corrosion cracks at the inaccessible hub bore and keyway surfaces of shrunk-on turbine disks. The system is based on using two ultrasonic testing methods, utilizing several specially designed ultrasonic probes and positioning the probes on the disk faces with the aid of several specially developed positioning plates which are attached to two robot arms
