Complex evaluation of material problems and lifetime of the primary circuit components of Czechoslovak nuclear power plants

Description
The Division of Reactor Materials of the Nuclear Research Institute (UJV) deals with several problems, in particular with the effect of neutron irradiation on mechanical properties of steels for reactor pressure vessels, corrosion resistance of Cr18Ni10Ti austenitic steel under operating conditions, development of an expert system enabling failure prediction for the intended unit output regime as well as in-service checking of the fuel element coating, investigation into zirconium compound production technologies, and neutron transmission analysis. The Division also issues standards and other technical documents for nuclear power plant siting, design, component manufacture, construction and operation. (M.D.). 7 figs., 15 refs
