A self consistent treatment of the nuclear isoscalar quadrupole motion
Description
A method recently proposed which reduces the computation of adiabatic masses of the general collective motion corresponding to a given path, into a constrained Hartree-Fock problem is summarized. Some numerical aspects of the method are discussed, and a presentation of some results for the isoscalar quadrupole mode, with a special emphasis on two sub-shell closed non spin saturated nuclei (12C and 56Ni) is made
