Piezoresistance response of different batches of ytterbium foils
Description
This paper on ytterbium, part of an ongoing effort to understand piezoresistance response, had the following objectives: to confirm the correlation between quasi-static and dynamic experiments by examining a different bach of ytterbium foils; to correlate the response of different batches; and to ascertain the effects, if any, of the loading rate on gauge response by performing ramp wave experiments. The first two objectives are expected to be helpful in resolving difficulties associated with variations of physical properties between different batches. The third objective is intended as a check on the theoretical model which at present does not include rate effects
