Investigation on Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), UO22+ and VO2+ chelates of dibasic tridentates possessing N-N-O moiety

Description
Two dibasic tridentates were synthesised by the condensation of oxindol or 2-acetylpyrrol with anthranilic acid. Metal chelates of these ligands with Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), UO22+ and VO2+ were synthesised, and characterised through elemental analysis, molecular mass, conductance, potentiometric, magnetic and spectral techniques. Some spectroscopic parameters were also evaluated. Octahedral geometry has been assigned to these chelates excepting those of the Zn(II) and Cd(II) which display tetrahedral geometry.
