Synthesis, XRD and Moessbauer study of Fe1-xRuxSb2 for 0.0 ≤ x ≤ 0.5

Description

We report here on the synthesis of polycrystalline specimens corresponding to x = 0.3 and 0.5 in the pseudo binary Fe1-xRuxSb2 system. X-ray powder diffraction patterns recorded at 300K for these specimens suggest the orthorhombic structure similar to FeSb2. 57Fe Moessbauer spectra measured at 300K indicate low spin state of iron in this system.
