Porosity effect on grain boundary slip in metals

Description

Peculiarities of grain-boundary processing porous metals under deformation were investigated. Values of grain-boundary slippage and turns of grains as the whole were measured for iron structures which have wide range of porosity. The results of the investigation has revealed that the role of grain-boundary processes as opposed to inside-grain processes grow 5 with a porosity increase. 9 refs.; 3 figs
