Thermonuclear device

Description

Purpose: To prevent impurities and secondary neutral particles emitted from the wall of a plasma confinement cell upon impingement of the incident neutral particles thereon from intruding into plasmas by the provision of an absorbing aperture. Constitution: An absorbing aperture having electrodes and insulators is provided to a plasma confinement cell opposing to a neutron injector. A voltage is applied across the electrodes to generate electric fields which advance in the direction opposite to the plasmas when rotated in the direction from the electric field to the magnetic field according to the Fleming's rule. Those neutral particles injected from the injector that passed through the plasmas impinge on the cell wall to emit secondary charged particles, which are, however, advanced while rotation in the direction opposite to that of the plasma and inhibited from intrusion into the plasmas.
