Confirmation of the hypothesis of universality of the scalar confining potential in the model of generalized quark fields

  • 1. Center for the Study of Surface and Vacuum Properties, Moscow (Russian Federation)

Description

In the framework of the constituent model of mesons the contribution of the quasi-Coulomb interaction and the values of the constant slope of the linearly rising scalar potential (the coefficient of string tension) are calculated. The high-precision values of the constant slope obtained from the vector-meson mass spectrum confirms the hypothesis of flavor-independence of the scalar quark-antiquark potential. 16 refs
