Transverse-momentum distributions of multiply charged fragments in 160 emulsion-nucleus interactions at 2.0 GeV/nucleon
Description
The letter discusses some results on the transverse-momentum distributions of relativistic multiply charged fragments in 160 emulsion-nucleus interactions. The measurements have been performed in a stack of 600μm thick Ilford k2 emulsions exposed to the 2.1GeV/nucleon 160 beam of the Berkeley Bevatron. The results are in agreement with earlier studies of the isotopes in cosmic-ray nucleus nucleus collisions, which show that the particles are frequently emitted from the incident nucleus with emission angles much larger than those predicted by the evaporation theory
