Use of geophysical exploration data to predict intervals of ground water inflow to productive oil wells

Description
Multidimensional dependences between water conduction coefficients determined by the results of hydrodynamic studies using the pressure reduction method, and other geophysical parameters were studied on fractured and porous carbonate rocks of petroleum deposits in Belo-Russia as an example. The geophysical paramters used were: 1) porosity of the strata, determined by a neutron-gamma logging curve; 2) saturation of the strata, determined from secondary logging data; and 3) overall effective capacity of the stratum reservoirs in the perforation interval distinguished by the geophysical data complex. For distinguishing the surrounding seams, studies were made by the pulsed neutron-neutron logging method, using normalized curves of the decrement in decrease of density of thermal neutrons and neutron-gamma logging curves for distinguishing the surrounding layers
