Electron-ion collision cross sections
Description
Collisions between electrons and ions are the dominant atomic processes used in predicting the time development of plasmas. The physical model for describing the interactions between electrons and positive ions also has some fundamental differences from that describing the interactions between electrons and neutral particles. This paper is a brief review of these aspects and a description of some techniques for measuring these cross sections. (orig.)
