Measurements of fuel burn-up and uranium and plutonium isotope content in WWER-440 fuel assemblies by 134Cs/137Cs activity ratio
Description
A method for measuring the fuel burnup, uranium and plutonium isotope content in the fuel elements and fuel assemblies (FAs) of WWER-440 by the ratio of 134Cs and 137Cs activity (A134/A137) which is approximately proportional to the fluence, is described. The activity ratio is measured in the fuel elements and FAs by relative intensities of 134Cs and 137Cs γ-lines. The accuracy of measuring the activity ratio in the fuel solutions, fuel elements and assemblies of WWER-440 is approximately similar
