Behaviour of fermium, einsteinium and californium in molten salts in the presence of reducing agents

Description
Behaviour of Sr, Y, Sm, Eu, Am, Cf, Es and Fm in LiCl-NdCl2-NdCl3 and LiI-PrI2 systems was studied. It was established that californium, einsteinium and fermium reduced only to oxidation state 2+ in the presence of Nd2+. At the same time LiI-PrI2 system didn't provide a clear answer to the question: if Cf, Es and Fm reduce to oxidation state 1+ or 2+ in the presence of Pr2+. 15 refs., 2 tabs
