Description
Emission computed tomography of several organs (brain, liver, lung, heart, thyroid gland, kidney, and bone) was performed in 167 patients in addition to conventional camera scintigraphy. In 2 out of 45 patients with brain scan and in 4 out of 39 patients with liver scan diagnostic accuracy could be improved by ECAT. This early clinical experience suggests several promising areas for further investigation. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
Bei insgesamt 167 Patienten wurde die Emissions-Computertomographie verschiedener Organe (Hirn, Leber, Lunge, Herz, Schilddruese, Niere und Knochen) zusaetzlich zur konventionellen Kameraszintigraphie durchgefuehrt. Dabei konnte die diagnostische Treffsicherheit der konventionellen Szintigraphie in 2 von 45 Faellen mit Hirnszintigramm und in 4 von 39 Faellen mit Leberszintigramm verbessert werden. Fuer die abschliessende Beurteilung der Wertigkeit dieses Verfahrens sind noch Vergleichsuntersuchungen mit Ultraschall und TCAT sowie Angiographie an einem groesseren Patientengut erforderlich.
