Description

The endogenous part of N in the intestinal chyme was determined in pigs (live weight 35 to 50 kg) with re-entrant camulae at the end of the ileum by isotope dilution. The N pool was labelled with 15N-glycine and 15N-leucine, resp. The TCA-soluble fraction of the blood plasma was the criterion for the labelling level. A direct connection could be revealed between N intake and endogenous N in the intestinal chyme. As to the N intake there was a dependence of the endogenous N on the feed protein
