Investigation into electrochemical behaviour of indium in sulfuric acid solutions by impedance method

  • 1. AN Kazakhskoj SSR, Alma-Ata. Inst. Organicheskogo Kataliza i Ehlektrokhimii

Description

The method of impedance measurements has been used for studying the discharge-ionization process of indium in sulphuric acid solution. The most probable model of the studied process, the Frumkin-Melik-Gaykazyan model, has been proposed on the basis of analyzing the frequency dependence or the tangent of the phase shift angle as well as the dependence of reactive and active components of the input impedance on the alternating current frequency. By comparing the parameters of Faraday impedance comprising charge transfer resistance, Warburg diffusion impedance adsorption capacity it has been shown that the rate of the total electrode process is controlled by diffusion of monovalent indium ions participating in the electrochemical reaction
