Thermodynamic properties of the binary Laves phase compounds of plutonium with the group VIIIa metals
Description
The thermodynamic properties of PuFe2, PuRu2 and PuOs2 were determined using fused salt emf cells. The data indicate that there is a regular correlation between the stability of these AB2 Laves type compounds and their unalloyed atomic radius ratio. The limited amount of data available tends to support the conclusion that other Laves compounds grouped according to their electronic bonding structure show a similar correlation. (U.S.)
